SAMRA ANNOUNCES TO OPEN 400 RETAIL OUTLETS OF COOPERATIVE IN STATE
MAIDEN BOOTH INAUGURATED IN JALANDHAR

Leaping forward towards realizing ‘Ghar Ghar Naukri ‘ mission of the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, the MARKFED has decided to allot 400 retail booths to the unemployed youth of the state.
Divulging the details, the Chairman of MARKFED and former Punjab Minister Mr. Amarjeet Singh Samra, after inaugurating the first such retail booth here today, said that in the current year 100 such booths would be allotted to eligible youth. He said that gradually the remaining booths would also be allotted. Mr. Samra said that after judging the performance of these booths a proposal to allot more sale booths at block and village level would also be formed.
The Chairman said that these booths would be allotted to youth between age group of 21-37 years having minimum qualification of ten plus two. He said that in case applications for a booth were more at any place then decision of allottee would be done through draw. Mr Samra said that besides providing employment opportunities for the youth these booths would facilitate the consumers to get the high quality products of MARKFED easily.
Recalling the journey of this premier cooperative of Asia, the Chairman said that from a humble beginning MARKFED was today a giant empire which was facilitating the farmers and people. He said that wide range of MARKFED products were immensely popular amongst the people across the globe. Mr Samra said that the products of MARKFED were known for its mouth watering taste and high quality due to which they were in high demand. He said that the cooperative was eyeing to enhance the production of its products upto double in coming years.
In his address, the Managing Director of MARKFED Dr Arshdeep Singh Thind said that all out efforts were afoot to provide quality products to the people by the MARKFED. He said that soon an extensive marketing strategy of the cooperative would be unveiled to make it more popular amongst the people. Dr Thind said that every effort would be made for further expansion of this premier cooperative of Asia.
